SWEENEY TODD, LEGALLY BLONDE and More to Headline Theatre in the Park's 2012 Summer Season

Theatre in the Park presents first six-show season this summer at the largest outdoor community theater in the country, Johnson County's Theatre in the Park in Shawnee Mission Park.

This year’s season offers a wide variety of musicals, including:

Sweeney Todd - June 8-10 & 14-17; directed by Mark Swezey; Rated R

Legally Blonde - June 22-24 & June 28-July 1; directed by Greg Shaw; Rated PG

Disney Double feature of “Jungle Book” and “Sleeping Beauty” - July 6-8 & 12-15; directed by Tammy Ruder, Rated G

Urinetown - July 20-22 & 26-29; directed by David Hastings; Rated PG

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown - August 3-5 & 9-12; directed by Tim Bair; Rated G

Curtain time for all productions in the 2012 season is 8:30 p.M. Gates open to the theatre bowl at 7:20 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for children (ages 4-10). Children under three are free but do require a ticket for entrance. New this year is Thrifty Thursdays—for all Thursday night performances receive 20 percent off the ticket price; must purchase ticket at the box office and must see the show THAT Thursday evening.
