Kansas City Rep's presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, directed by Kyle Hatley, the theatre's associate artistic director, runs now through March 31, 2013. This is the musical theatre event that sparked delight in hearts of audience members and critics alike when it was first presented in 2011 by The Living Room (TLR), one of Kansas City's most imaginative small theatre companies. The Rep's well-known theatrical craftsmanship, under the creative guidance of Hatley and TLR artistic director Rusty Sneary, has transformed the 650-seat Spencer Theatre into an intimate, 400-seat theatre-in-the-round to tell the universal story of love, longing and sacrifice.

Hatley is a busy actor, director, playwright and producer. At the Rep, he has directed The Borderland, Broke-ology, A Christmas Carol 2010-12, Circle Mirror Transformation and Little Shop of Horrors. Hatley also acted in the Rep's productions of The Whipping Man and The Glass Menagerie.

The cast of Carousel includes: Molly Denninghoff (Julie Jordan); Georgia Dubois (Enoch Snow's Daughter); Charles Fugate (Bascombe); Katie Gilchrist (Nettie); Liz Clark Golson (Carrie); Gary Neal Johnson (Dr. Seldon); Daria LeGrand (Louise); Natalie Liccardello (Mrs. Mullin); Matthew McAndrews (Enoch Snow); Sean Moise (Enoch Snow, Jr.); Rusty Sneary (Billy Bigelow); and Nick Uthoff (Jigger).

The Living Room is an ensemble-based company of artists located in a non-traditional theatre space at 1818 McGee in the Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, MO. It was conceived in 2009 by Rusty Sneary who is artistic director and co-owner, and Shawnna Journagan.

Now in its 48th season, Kansas City Repertory Theatre is its region's only member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) and serves as the professional theatre in residence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).
